Terms of service
The deal between
you and Sendy.
Last updated September 29, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Sendy Study Tool ("Sendy", "we"), run from Ontario, Canada, for your use of the app at sendystudytool.com. By creating an account, subscribing or using Sendy you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Sendy.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to make an account, and we ask you to confirm that when you sign up. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you also need a parent or guardian's permission to subscribe. Sendy is built for post-secondary students.
- Give us a real email address and keep it current, because it is how we reach you and how you get back in.
- Your account is yours alone. Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else has used it. A plan that covers more than one person is only available by arrangement with us.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Subscription and payment
- Sendy is a subscription, billed either monthly or every 4 months (the term plan). The price of each is shown at checkout and where you choose it, in the currency shown there.
- Payments are taken by Stripe. Your card is charged when you subscribe and then at the start of each new period (each month, or every 4 months on the term plan), and the subscription renews automatically until you cancel. We repeat these terms next to every subscribe button.
- You can cancel at any time from the Billing page, which opens Stripe's portal, or by emailing us. Cancelling stops the next charge. Your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for. Apart from the guarantee below, we do not refund partial periods, including the unused months of a term plan.
- 7-day money-back guarantee. If you email us within 7 days of your first payment on an account, we refund that payment, less the cost of the AI processing Sendy has already run for the account (generating notes, flashcards, tests, podcasts and answers). We tell you that amount before we refund. The guarantee covers an account's first payment only, once per person.
- If a payment fails we will try again and let you know. If it keeps failing, your access pauses until it goes through.
- If we change the price we will tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you.
- Prices do not include taxes unless we say so. Where tax applies, it is added at checkout.
Your material
- What you upload stays yours. You give us permission to store it, process it and send it to the AI providers named in our privacy policy, only so we can make the study material you asked for.
- Upload only material you are allowed to use for your own study. Lecture slides, readings and recordings usually belong to your instructor or institution, and many schools limit how they can be copied or shared. It is your responsibility to stay within those rules.
- Do not upload anything unlawful, anything that infringes someone else's rights, or anyone else's personal information without their permission.
- Notes, flashcards, tests, podcasts and other things Sendy makes from your material are for your own study. Use them however you like for that. Do not resell them or redistribute them at scale.
Referral rewards
- Every subscriber has a referral code on their Billing page. When someone new signs up with your code and their first payment goes through, we owe you the reward shown there, and we send it by e-transfer within a few days.
- A reward is not owed for referring yourself, an account that already exists, or a payment that is refunded or charged back. We can withhold rewards where we see abuse, and we can change or end the program with notice on this page.
Copyright complaints
Sendy stores material that students upload for their own study. If you own the copyright in something on Sendy and believe it is there without permission, send a notice to our designated agent at hello@sendystudytool.com with "Copyright" in the subject line.
- Include: your name and contact details, the work you say is infringed, where on Sendy the material is (a class, unit or file name is enough), a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, a statement under penalty of perjury that you are the owner or act for them, and your physical or electronic signature.
- We act on complete notices promptly: we remove or block the material and tell the account that uploaded it, who may send a counter-notice. Where the law where you are provides a notice-and-notice process instead, we forward your notice to the account.
- We close the accounts of people who repeatedly upload material that infringes someone else's rights.
Using Sendy properly
- Sendy is a study aid. It does not replace attending class, reading the source material or your own judgment.
- You are responsible for following your school's academic integrity rules. Check what your course allows before using AI-generated material in any submitted work.
- Do not try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or scrape the service, share an account, or use automated tools to pull content out of it.
- Do not use Sendy to harass anyone or to produce material that is illegal or harmful.
AI output
Sendy's notes, answers, tests and podcasts are generated by AI models. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and they can misread your material. Check anything that matters against the original source before you rely on it, especially for exams.
Changes to the service
We are a small team and Sendy changes often. We may add, change or remove features, and we may need to take the service down for maintenance. If we ever stop offering Sendy entirely, we will give you notice and time to download what you need.
Ending the agreement
- You can close your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and emailing us at hello@sendystudytool.com.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, does not pay, or puts the service or other users at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so we will warn you first.
- When an account is closed, its material and generated content are deleted as described in the privacy policy.
Limits of our responsibility
Sendy is provided as is. We do our best to keep it running and accurate, but we do not promise it will be available at all times, free of errors, or right for any particular course or exam. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses such as a lost grade, lost time or lost data, and our total liability to you for anything connected with Sendy is limited to what you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer protection law gives you and does not let you waive.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be heard in the courts of Ontario, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Sendy after that means you accept the new terms.
